At the border of Thailand and Myanmar, our team took a boat across the river and then a 1.5-hour truck ride to reach a village of Burmese people, joined by two others. Their overnight trip was meaningful as they shared food, games, and testimonies with the precious families.

In November, Todd Powers, visited the Empower International schools in Pakistan. They helped distribute new winter uniforms to all 800+ students and attended the Empower Pakistan vocational school graduation ceremony. 

In the Fall of 2025, we were blessed to have Solomon, an intern, join us in our ministry. His story is truly remarkable; he is a young Burmese man who grew up in a refugee camp.

At 24, he is now studying at Chiang Mai University. Through the extraordinary work God has done in his life, Solomon has become a vessel for reaching Burmese refugees with his powerful testimony. These camps are filled with people who have not yet heard the gospel.

November 2025, Empower International staff, along with close friends, united to reach people across Thailand. We organized multiple school outreach events and enjoyed entertaining the children, creating an opportunity to share the message
of Jesus and the hope and salvation He offers.

In July, Julie organized a meaningful women's conference in Thailand, themed “Awakened Heart." She delivered two special messages in separate sessions. One of the activities focused on healing broken hearts and emphasized the importance of awakening our hearts to Him.

Todd and Julie Powers had the incredible honor of preaching at their beloved home church in Thailand, Abundant Grace Church. As esteemed members of the congregation, they are deeply respected by the lead pastors, who welcome them to share their wisdom whenever they are in Thailand. For six weeks, they delivered inspiring and powerful messages of faith, choice, and obedience to God.

We're thrilled to announce our expansion with the opening of our newest school in Myanmar! A parent orientation was held at the end of May, we shared the incredible opportunities awaiting our students. Classes began in June.

Our Empower Youth Summer Camp 2025 was a transformative journey where joy and learning flowed together under the inspiring theme, “We Are the River.”

On March 28, 2025, a devastating 7.7 magnitude earthquake struck the Sagaing Region in Myanmar, causing extensive destruction in a country already facing severe oppression.

Our donors have generously supported both our Empower International and Empower Education Foundation programs, providing all the necessary school supplies for students in Myanmar (formerly known as Burma) for the upcoming academic year.

Empower International is dedicated to providing educational opportunities for older generations who were previously unable to read and write, particularly due to societal restrictions on women's education during their era. The impact of our efforts is evident in the lives of women who have seized the chance to learn and enhance their knowledge.

If you recall, some time ago, we at Empower Pakistan were nearing the final phases of construction on the first floor of our building project for our first Vocational/Technical School in Pakistan. This project aims to provide minority Christian young women and men with an avenue to be trained and pursue entrepreneurial opportunities.

On May 5, 2024, co-founder Todd Powers and a few Empower family members participated in the OC Marathon to raise funds for our students' textbooks and workbooks in Pakistan. Our initial goal was $18,000, but we exceeded that and reached 127% of our goal totaling, $22,919. Notably, we expected 500 new students to enroll in the new school year, but 350 additional students joined, bringing the total to 850 students.

In early 2022, Todd and Julie were inspired by God to construct a second school in another community in Pakistan. Thanks to people like you who extended their help and support, we managed to raise enough funds to purchase the land and begin the construction of the school. This school will be able to accommodate 850 students!
